Deirdre Dermody is a Special Educational Needs Teaching Professional with over 10 years of experience in helping children to develop their reading and writing skills. Her main area of interest is improving literacy outcomes for children from all backgrounds. Her phonics activity books focus on interactive learning for children who struggle inside the classroom and prefer to learn in a hands-on way outdoors. Produced in rural Ireland, the Farm Phonics series uses colourful illustrations and short simple activities to make literacy accessible to all.  

Deirdre Dermody has completed numerous qualifications in the area of Special and Inclusive Education including at postgraduate level. She has trained in DCU, The Institute of Child Education and Psychology, the Dyslexia Association of Ireland and National Council for Special Education amongst others.
