PLAY

Through the presence of a supportive adult, a child can develop an understanding of their own actions and experiences.

Children must not be viewed as miniature adults. They view their world through concrete realities and their experiences are often communicated through play. Unlike adults, whose natural form of communication is verbalisation, children naturally communicate through play, (Landreth 1991).

EMPATHY

 by Brenee Brown

The use of puppets is one way to help develop empathy. Many children will relate to puppets when they are unable to relate to other people. Puppets grab and keep the child's attention when used effectively. They are extremely powerful tools.
